The Serpentine ScrollsThe Serpentine Scrolls by Alcatraz Dey
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

The author, Alcatraz Dey, (pseudonym for Ajay Kumar), a science graduate from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi has a passion for deep research in religions and human behavior. His effort to elicit the relationship between human behavior with respect to the wisdom gained and interpreted over ages did not seem to have taken off well enough, through this book.

Storyline: The first of the sequel, The Colossal Adventure Series, this book is written with complete passion over snakes and their ability to carry eternal wisdom for ages together through their progeny. The entire story revolves around two King Cobras domesticated by a God’s messenger named Hannah and their adventure in seeking, retaining and passing over of the wisdom and knowledge gained by them across the world, right from the times of Emperor Akbar to present times. The plot culminates on the day when Pakistan terrorist outfit Lashkar-e-Jihad, plans to destroy Bangalore city completely through latest weaponry and biological suicide bombers, after twenty years of meticulous planning. A RAW intelligence official named Viswanath discovers the plot and tries to stop the events with the help of Ihsin, a progeny of Hannah. Meanwhile LeJ’s chief Shahid meticulously plans and executes part of his plan through his prime associate Jebbar, who also happens to be a progeny of Hannah, but with a different understanding of Jihad. Both Ihsin and Jebbar have snake like features embedded inside their bodies and are gifted with huge reserves of wisdom and knowledge. The story ends with Ihsin and Vishwanath finding Hannah at a village called Manchale, near the banks of River Tungabahadra in Andhra Pradesh who gives them insights about how he was waiting for Ihsin to get back his lost snakes, by decoding the strange tattoos on Ishin’s body. The two colossal snakes having lived over hundreds of years along with Hannah, get liberated from this earth through Hannah and their son In human form takes over the job of preserving the wisdom gained by these snakes for future generations. All three set out to save Bangalore from being destroyed forever by the terrorists….but alas…only to be continued in the next book – a big disappointment.

Pros: The author brought out the fact of snakes and human beings being linked through wisdom. This according to the author seems to have originated right from the creation of Adam-Eve, till the present days. The creator seems to have chosen snakes to transfer the knowledge gained by humans and send messengers like Jesus, Prophet Mohammad, Buddha, Mahavir etc to Earth from time to time. Good insights into some links to the origin of the scientific name of King Cobra (Ophiophagus Hannah) and human being (Homo Sapiens).

Cons: Somewhere the author has faltered in bridging the terror story with story of the wisdom of a God’s messenger and his pet snakes. The reader is lost in between as there seems to be a complete different version of snakes being a part of acquiring knowledge along with humans and communicating the same to the Creator. Neither realistic nor convincing! The story is quite confusing at times and the author failed to bring a clean flow to the story and partially failed to explain the true reasons behind the characters portrayed versus the underlying truth. Sudden ending to the story without much of inference is a big negative point to the book. Must wait and see how he handles the second part of the sequel.

President Barack Obama: The Kindle Singles Interview (Kindle Single)President Barack Obama: The Kindle Singles Interview by David Blum
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

This is an exclusive interview by David Blum, an old time friend of the President, which took place in a warehouse.

The honesty and commitment of President Barack Obama to take USA to the next level of life style filled with values and technology, in order to lead the world into the future, is highly commendable. The President’s aim of creating good jobs, rebuild the country’s manufacturing base, and develop the best education system possible which is affordable for an ordinary family are quite realistic and strategic criteria to take the country forward.

Barack Obama’s humble and modest lifestyle before occupying the White House, lays the strong foundation towards his welfare oriented thinking and action plans that could propel USA to a much higher living standards that the entire world could one day be enviable about. His testimony about how his wife Michelle and his two daughters Malia & Sasha have been groomed to adopt a hard-earned lifestyle is the true test of his great personality.

It’s surprising to learn that he is the only President to have his credit card declined! That’s Obama…May his dream of having people who are self starters instead of pulling their weight on the government to spoon feed them success, be fulfilled in the near future.

CandideCandide by Voltaire
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

This is a French Classic book of optimism, written by one of the greatest philosophers of France, Voltaire. This great classic is said to have been written in just three days in 1759. But it never lost the vigor and charm that lie embedded in the story.

Candide, a young gentleman in the castle of Westphalia, somewhere in Germany, falls in love with the Baron’s daughter Miss Cunegonde. Having been discovered, Candide gets banished from the castle by the Baron. This book is all about how he and his philosopher Pangloss, a professor in metaphysico-theologico-cosmolo-nigology, who always believed in “Always, everything happens for the best and there is no effect without cause”, happen to travel across the globe to various nations of Europe and South America to discover the different kinds of injustice that can happen to the good and the beautiful people, with no mercy. Candide till the end, was in search of his true love, Miss Cunegonde, who was incessantly molested by different kings and generals after having been taken as a slave by foreign invaders. But Candide never lost his love for her, and ultimately re-unites with her and takes her as his wife even though she lost all her riches and beauty.

Pros: The book reveals many philosophical ideas and thought processes of optimistic thinking in a comical fashion. One gets to understand that everything happens as per fate and no event is under anyone’s control. The heights of optimism displayed in the characters of Candide, Pangloss and Martin, are the real highlights of the story. Some hard facts of how Kings and their ladies were treated after having been captured by enemy kingdoms was narrated in comedy. The book reveals the existence of best of good and bad in the world, side by side, in those days. It is quite relevant to the present days too.

Cons: The way in which the description of how ladies from defeated royal families were ravished and treated as slaves seem to have been a little exaggerated. Very few are left in today’s world with such optimism in mind. Who knows…the opposite would have taken over the world today.

My favorite quotes in the book
“Fools admire everything in an author of reputation. For my part, I read only to please myself. I like only that which serves my purpose - Martin”
“A modest woman may be ravished once, but her virtue is strengthened by it”

Bought: Destitute Yet DefiantBought: Destitute Yet Defiant by Sarah Morgan
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

One more modern love story, among the millions of them thronging the market place, from Mills and Boon series.

Storyline: Jesse, a girl who spent her childhood in the shoddy downtown areas along with her brother Joe and his friend Silvio, grows up to be a singer in a cheap bar. She lives a debt-ridden life, after the death of her brother, until she meets Silvio after many years. Silvio had grown up to become a billionaire and comes back for his childhood crush Jessie, only to realize that she is leading a tough life. Jessie, though initially mistakes Silvio for having been responsible for his brother’s death, later, realizes that he was actually supporting him then and her, now. Similarly, Silvio also mistakes Jessie to have resorted to prostitution, to earn money, but later discovers that she only uses her voice but not her body. Meanwhile, Silvio introduces Jessie to his rich lifestyle and finally makes her a big star singer. Jessie, who didn’t want to be a hindrance to Silvio’s extravagant life, leaves him only to be followed by him afterwards to confess his love to her. They marry and live happily ever after.

Pros: Another soft love story from the author which takes the reader through like a cool sail on pristine waters. Jessie’s poverty and her simplicity seem to have made Silvio to love her rather than her outward beauty. This is the best part of the love story as the author made it a point to ascertain once again that True Love simply does not arise out of just physical features.

Cons: Somehow I always felt that Mills and Boon series always tends to show the women in their story mentally strong initially but ultimately become weak and fall for the men whom they love. Here, I felt that Silvio had made a clever investment in Jessie, as a businessman rather than a true lover. The question still remains as to whether Silvio would have married Jessie, if she was not gifted with her golden voice. I see this kind of love more of a business deal and than anything else.

Self Discipline: The Ultimate Self Discipline Guide - How To Build Good Habits, Develop Self Control, Beat Procrastination & Achieve Personal Goals (Willpower, ... Self Confidence, The Power of Habits)Self Discipline: The Ultimate Self Discipline Guide - How To Build Good Habits, Develop Self Control, Beat Procrastination & Achieve Personal Goals by Richard Carroll
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

A booklet of how to build good habits, develop self control, beat procrastination and achieve personal goals. Many useful steps to achieve both professional and personal goals have been briefly suggested. Some of my favorite tips that I personally found might be useful are 1) taking a pause to re-channel or refocus energy when something goes wrong 2)Getting good amount of sleep after stressful moments and 3)stop procrastinating in order to achieve what one wants in targeted time periods.

The author should have included some live examples to make the book more interesting. Nothing new in the tips suggested. Could have been better.

My favorite quote in the book

“Resting is taking a break after a few days of work, while procrastinating is not doing anything even before the work started”

DurbarDurbar by Tavleen Singh
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Tavleen Singh, a prominent Punjabi born journalist of Indian press and media, has revealed some of the astonishing facts about Indira Gandhi and her successors, which I think that every Indian who has a passion towards evolution of Indian politics must read. I would like to congratulate her for bringing out this startling book of her career as a journalist cum political analyst.

The book opens with the assassination of Rajiv Gandhi, the last Prime Minister of the Congress party from the Gandhi dynasty and ends with the same. All the events that pre-existed before this assassination right from the start of his mother, Indira Gandhi, taking over as prime minister of India, were efficiently narrated in the best possible chronological order. The iron hand politics of Indira Gandhi and her dictatorial thought policy about the Indian mentality has been clearly elicited in her actions with respect to the declaration of Emergency in 1975, usage of Income tax raids over all those who acted against her Government, her cunning actions against the Muslims at the same time protecting her vote bank in the disguise of secularism, and finally bringing in the dynastic culture to Indian politics. Her inefficiencies with respect to handling Hindu-Muslim divide, Kashmir issue, Punjab terrorism and North East imbroglio was well highlighted with real facts. The way Indira Gandhi exploited the Indian masses through her charm and family history can never be forgiven. A similar kind of treatment from her son Rajiv Gandhi after her assassination has kept Indian economy and development much below world standards mainly due to his incapacity to understand what India wants and heavy reliance on his closed and inexperienced peers from higher echelons. His poor foreign policy and ineffective Government measures failed to eradicate poverty and raise the literacy levels to desired standards even after having kept the political power with their family for almost thirty years, after Independence. His assassination came as a surprise to the world and continued the passing over of the throne to his subtle and equally inefficient foreigner wife, Sonia Gandhi. Wonder when we Indians would stop worshiping the so-called dynasties of the royal class with white skins and start encouraging those amongst our own color and talents!

Pros: The tough life of a passionate political journalist is the strength of this work. This book brought out many facts and figures about how the Nehruvian socialistic ideas have been implemented in the worst possible ways, mainly due to short-sighted approach and inefficiency of his successors. Poor literacy levels, absence of free media, rampant caste divisions, huge rich-poor gap, central control of economic activity, heavy reliance on peer groups who are close to the family but with minimum practical approach and lack of cultural understanding about the different ethnicities prevailing in India were some of the reasons why the Gandhi family had failed to bring about the desired economic and social development of the country. On top of all these factors, the major demonic culture of “dynastic inheritance” introduced by Indira Gandhi is said to be the main concern of today’s india, which spread to each and every corner of the country and even the lowest administrative units, like a dangerous virus.

Cons: This book seems to have been written from the critical point of view on the Indira Gandhi family. Though there were many facts about the ills of her administration, there were also some popular welfare policies which have created lasting impressions in the minds of Indian masses. The author’s tone seems to be carrying some kind of affinity towards her Punjabi background and the injustice that she felt when her State’s problem was dealt by the Gandhi family, in a way not acceptable to her. Apart from the above, there should have been some mention about Indira Gandhi’s husband and how she rose to be the Prime Minister of India after Jawaharlal Nehru.

My favorite quote in the book:

“There are political families in other democracies but outside the Indian subcontinent the widow or the children of a political leader do not automatically claim the dead man’s legacy as if it were their birthright.”

The Test of My LifeThe Test of My Life by Yuvraj Singh
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The author Yuvraj Singh is one of the most sought after cricketing star amongst the Indian youth. He is one player on whom the entire country relies upon when it comes to winning shots and saving the game from critical situations in International Cricket.
When his career was at its peak, this young player was one day diagnosed with a rare type of cancer called ‘Seminoma” consisting of a tumor in between his lungs and heart. That was the day from which he fought with this fatal disease and came out victorious after a year to be back again on the cricket field, playing for his country.
This book, which he wrote, surely brings out tears, particularly at the time when going through his tough times of chemotherapy at Indianapolis in USA. The side-effects and the pain caused while the battle between the medicine and the cancerous outgrowth is taking place inside the patient’s body, is quite excruciating. He could successfully bring in all his emotions with respect to how he was able to cope with the deadly pain….all because of his strong will and determination to go back to India and play his game, as before.
The best part of his life is that he set up a charity organization for cancer patients, named “YOUWECAN” to help detect cancer in people living in places where there are no proper hospitals and medical facilities. Very few celebrities go to that extent of helping the poor in fighting out the deadly disease, which, he could conquer and survive.

Pros: The author’s narration about his disease and the way he neglected it is a strong lesson to many who neglect their illness and avoid seeing a doctor, when something is really wrong with their bodies. His extremely strong will power to survive and play cricket again is the trait that every cancer affected patient should adopt in order to win over this deadly disease. The author’s concern for those who cannot afford the kind of facilities and financial power that he was bestowed upon is quite commendable. Finally, his encouraging words about the sanctity in social acceptance of cancer patients is to be well received and thanked.
I would definitely recommend this book to all those patients who are undergoing the painful Chemotherapy, to get that additional confidence to live on….

Cons: Having lost my brother to Seminoma twelve years ago, I still feel that cure for this disease is only for the rich and famous. Cancer deaths are just not the death of a person but a death of the entire family dependent on him. Many die because they cannot afford the kind of treatment Yuvraj could get. Many do not have access to basic pain killers even. Wonder when the real affordable generic medicine for all kinds of cancer would roll out to save lakhs of cancer-affected lives of the poorer world. There was no mention of his famous girl friend and where she was during his bad days.
The book is definitely not for those countries which do not play cricket. The actual interesting part of the book, as per me, is only from the middle, when the author actually starts describing his treatment and the aftermath. Prior to that, it was little boring!

My favorite quote in the book:

“Play the tournament for someone you love or respect or for someone who is special and has played a huge role in your life, Play it for someone you think you owe something to.”

Jesus Christ: The Real StoryJesus Christ: The Real Story by United Church of God
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A book brought out by The United Church of God, who claim to be the real and original followers of the doctrine of Love of God, established by Jesus Christ himself, definitely cleared many doubts in the followers of Christ and of course some of other religions too.
This book through various quotes from the Bible, brought out the simple truth about the return of Jesus Christ, for the second time into this world, this time not out of Love and Forbearance but with Wrath and Vengeance over all the mankind which failed to obey his long established Love of God, through his crucifixion.
Various myths about the birth of the Christ, his lifestyle, his family connections, his miracles, his preaching against the Roman priests, accusations upon him by his own community and disciples, his painful death through crucifixion, his resurrection from the grave, origin of the Cross, Origin of the names Jesus and Christ, and his message to his disciples etc have been scientifically explained in this book with chronological and documented details. Even a non-Christian would be convinced about the reality in the existence of the Son of God once upon a time and his sure-shot return back to this world, right at the time when mankind faces the verge of extinction.

Pros: Some doubts about the birthday of the Christ and the day of Resurrection have been so well explained. After reading this book, one would get a clear idea as to how the original Bible has been mis-interpreted and manipulated for the benefit of its present day preachers. The science behind the deadly punishment methodology of Romans called “crucifixion” is my favorite topic in this book. One would keep wondering about the startling revelation that Jesus came into this world long back just to fulfill the prophesies of the Old Testament and bear the sins of mankind but not to become the King of Jews: and that he is bound to come back this time not as the Christ the Saviour, but as Christ the Creator & Ruler of God’s own Kingdom.

Cons: Apart from some un-heard facts in the Bible, rightly revealed, I somehow felt that the book was targeted at creating fear amongst the non-followers of Christianity with respect to their chances of being expelled from the forthcoming Kingdom of God. Some questions like what was the sanctity of the religions and beliefs that existed many thousands of years even before the Birth of the Christ? And why only Jews and only the territory around the Middle Eastern countries was the center of discussion in the Old and New Testaments of the Bible? Were people of other parts of the world not a matter of concern to the so-called God? How does the father of Jesus, Jehovah look like? Why doesn’t He appear on Earth and put an end to all the sins and flaws of mankind forever? Why, What, and When....are the million dollar questions that need to be yet answered.

My favorite quote in the book

“Enter by the narrow gate, He tells us, for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it”

Welcome to AfghanistanWelcome to Afghanistan by Jay Buckner
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

The author is a Virginia based play writer who worked as the Director of US Aided Project to an Agricultural Trade Fair in Heart city of Afghanistan.
The book is a narration of his personal experience in encountering the various problems he faced after he took over the charge of organizing an Agricultural Fair in war-borne Afghanistan. Though the narration has many interesting facts of the country with respect to its culture and way of living, most of the pages do not carry the juice to turn the pages interestingly. One would definitely applaud his will power and boldness to carry out such a project in a country which was so dangerous to even step out alone without security guards beside you. The bureaucracy of the ruling Government and corruption has been cleverly exposed. Interesting facts about historic monuments of Heart city like the Citadel of Heart built by Alexander the Great, famous minarets, Gazar Gah Shrine and Friday Mosque. The importance of Nepali Gurkhas in Afghan army as security guards is also well elicited.

Pros: One can get an idea of some of the best and interesting facts about the people of Afghanistan and their efficiency in whatever work they take up. If it was not for the continuous wars, the country would have become one of the thriving economies of the world due to its skilled manpower and abundant natural mineral resources. The lavish food and hospitality of Afghanistan is once again brought forward in this book.

Cons: The book is quite boring sometimes, particularly when the author was discussing the modus operandi of his project work.

AdulteryAdultery by Paulo Coelho
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A book that must be read by every man and woman who attained the stage of boredom in their marriage and feel like cheating upon each other. A wonderful book written by Paulo Coelho, who holds the record of highest translated books in the world.

Storyline: This is a story of Linda, a married journalist of Switzerland, who narrates her journey through self realization of the feeling called True Love. She, even after having the best of world with her, will not be able to cope up with life and falls into depression due to an unknown feeling called loneliness. A mother of two, a successful journalist profession and wife of the top 100 richest businessmen in the country, she complains of nothing but loneliness. One day, she happens to interview her teenage lover and present active budding politician, Jacob Konig. There and then onwards, she crosses all her limits and gets into a passionate lustful extramarital relationship with him. Jacob reciprocates due to the same feeling from his end. This continues until one day when Jacob’s wife suspects and confronts Linda in front of her husband about her relationship with Jacob. This is when Linda’s husband supports her morally and gives her a feeling that he truly loves her and shall forgive her for all her adultery with Jacob. Linda feels ashamed for whatever she has done and repents for her adultery through her realization of her self and the true meaning of life and the means to eternity called Love. She abandons her past relationship with Jacob and starts afresh with her loving husband and beautiful family which is still with her, through tough times.

Pros: The author’s mastery in bringing out a philosophical subject through a passionate story is highly admirable in this book. Every married couple should understand the fact that their partner’s life is dependent on the other’s ability to exhibit the love that they carry in their hearts every now and then, till they die. That is the only way for the married partner that he or she is still being loved and not being neglected or felt bored of. Many philosophies on Love, Jealousy, Freedom, Physical Attraction, Spiritual Confidence, etc have been touched upon with beautiful quotes. The way in which a woman feels when she feels neglected by her busy husband and how monotonous her life can turn into through rearing her children, and maintaining her home is narrated by Linda exquisitely. Her sexual attraction to Jacob, according to her was just because of this loneliness she experienced and the resulting depression and boredom in her life.
This book gives a great insight to almost all modern married couples who are so busy that they seldom recognize the fact that there is someone who is craving for the lovely touch and words everyday, with which they started their married life. One of the best and needed topics chosen by the author for the love starved marriages of today.

Cons: Though this is the story which happens in most of the monotonous marriages of today, neither of the married partners would like to read or witness that the other is cheating on them. Very rare are husbands like that of Linda or wives like Marianne to forgive adultery of their counterparts and continue living and loving them for the rest of their lives. And how moral is on the part of people like Linda to have a lustful physical relationship with her ex-boyfriend and later wipe it off in the name of self realization and continue her life as usual.

My favorite quotes in the book

“When we love someone, we’re not satisfied with knowing only the person’s soul- we also want to understand the person’s body. Is it necessary? I don’t know but instinct encourages us. There is no set time for it to take place, no rules to follow. Nothing beats that moment of revelation when shyness loses ground to boldness.”

“We are’nt who we want to be. We are what society demands. We are what our parents choose. We don’t want to disappoint anyone: we have a great need to be loved. So we smother the best in us. Gradually, the light of our dreams turns into the monster of our nightmares. They become things not done, possibilities not lived.”

The Governess Affair (Brothers Sinister, #0.5)The Governess Affair by Courtney Milan
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

First the author should be congratulated for bringing in a such a simple and serene love story out of an innocent woman’s life.

Storyline: Hugo Marshall, a cut throat businessman and also the legal and financial assistant of the Duke of Clermont was given an assignment by his boss to solve the problem of a woman named Serena Barton, who was made pregnant forcibly, by the Duke himself, after she was hired as a governess to his forthcoming child. Serena wages a silent battle against the Duke in front of his office, claiming recognition to her unborn child. Hugo confronts her many times to withdraw her claim by offering her a meager compensation for which she rejects. Meanwhile, Hugo slowly gets attracted to Serena’s will power and beauty, resulting in he slipping into love with her. Not being able to withstand his hidden love towards her, he offers her a proposal to marry her and hence clear her child from carrying a tainted image after he was born, without bending his ego of a self-centered advocate. Serena accepts the proposal and also later lives to realize her dream of owning a small farm for herself along with her son to acquire the best education, through Hugo’s tactical method of extracting benefit from the Duke. The story ends after many years, with Serena’s son and the Duke’s son confronting each other in a tussle in their high school, and get to know the fact that they were actually siblings of the same father but different mothers.

Pros: A serene love story which once again emphasizes on the ability of a woman to get what she wants only with strong will power….a great qualifier for Mills & Boon series of love stories. The game of hair pins mentioned in the story when Hugo had his first sexual encounter with Serena is worth trying by all males without being exposed by their thirst to dominate a woman.

Cons: I felt like Serena was taking advantage of the Duke’s weakness rather than fighting over the real cause of distress. Similarly Hugo seemed to have taken advantage of both Serena’s and the Duke’s weak positions. The entire story felt like business deals which rather might have transformed into emotional attachments.

God is a GamerGod is a Gamer by Ravi Subramanian
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Another block buster from the John Grisham of India, Ravi Subramanian. A banker and a writer by profession, Ravi has once again successfully brought out a deadly crime thriller, the story spanning over two most powerful democracies of the world.

Storyline: It starts with the stories of two powerful families based in India and USA. Both of them so powerful that they can influence Government decisions and used to siphon off huge public money into their personal accounts using the underworld illegal trade activities and technology. Aditya Rao, proprietor of a BPO unit in India having New York International Bank as its client runs into trouble when its internal system is hacked by some unknown techies resulting in its customers losing huge sums of money from the ATMs in USA. While investigating this case, the FBI trips on another interesting case that unearths a BITCOIN scandal (a kind of free virtual currency used as an alternative to existing currencies in the world) being used to traffic drugs, arms, child pornography etc on a undetectable email network called Cotton Trail, hosted by parent server TOR, somewhere in Ukraine. The founder of this Cotton Trail/BITCOINS, Gillian Tan, also a senator in US Government gets eliminated by his co-founder cum room mate, who happens to be a young, clever, talented, sex-starved Tanya, the only daughter of the CEO of NYIB India. FBI with the help of Indian CBI traces down the roots of both the cases and finds a common link, eventually. The final conclusion reveals that all the game is masterminded by Aditya’s son Varun, who happens to be the boy-friend of Gloria, daughter of Senator Gillian as a revenge on behalf of his girl friend and in-order to retrieve all of Gillian’s accumulated bitcoins to become one of the youngest billionaires of the world. He goes un-traced by both FBI and CBI, despite their most employed tech savvy investigation method, while Tanya gets arrested after being cleverly exposed by Varun in a game of love.

Pros: The beautiful talent of the writer to start off his books with two different unrelated stories and end up with clever linkage of the two with lot of surprising twists and turns remains the strength of this book too. The kind of research that the author has put in to bring out the concept of BITCOINS into the world for the first time is simply un-matched. Every reader of this book would be exposed to the dangerous corporate financial scandals of today and the roots of such scandals which often are nothing else but the extensive greed of the top brass to amass huge wealth beyond their capacities coupled with their physical lusts that lead to the disasters in the end. Its like falling in their own ditches. One would get a feeling that the top management of the financial world or for that matter, any industry is full of explicit relationships and unquenchable thirst to amass wealth that would finally pull them down and finally put an end to their lavish lives, once it crosses a desired limit.

Cons: The intelligent escape of the prime culprit escaping the punishment in the end seemed to be unjustified to me. Though Varun’s actions were based on a revenge on the step-father of Gloria (Gillian Tan), his deeds have resulted in deaths of several innocent lives, who were not at all connected to the scandals. He should have been brought to justice. The author’s question “IS REVENGE A CRIME? “ can be answered with a YES if the revenge was filled with the birth of several other revenges in return.
